The lawmaker`s decision to allow certain APRNs to practice without medical supervision is a major change in West Virginia law. This exciting development expands the scope of APRN practice and offers qualified APRNs the opportunity to open independent nursing practices in the mountain state. West Virginia nurses and other advanced nurse practitioners are under the responsibility of the West Virginia Board of Directors for professional nurses.
